I trained in Orthopedics & Traumatology at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, and my years in clinical practice across Ankara and Istanbul have left me deeply concerned about the state of musculoskeletal health in Turkey. This is not a distant, abstract worry — I see the consequences every week: patients whose careers, mobility, and quality of life are steadily eroded by treatable or preventable conditions. In this post I want to explain why this problem matters, share a few representative numbers and real-world scenarios, and make the case — from both a clinical and a public-health perspective — for investing in professional orthopedic services equipped with modern diagnostics and credentialed teams.
